Saturday June 4 - sweet potatoes, squash, cukes, watermelons & cantaloupes planted

Thanks to all who helped last weekend get in our sweet potato sets (300 in 4 rows including straw and irrigation) as well as prepare hills and seed our squash (3 rows summer-6 varieties; 1 row winter-2 varieties), cukes (2 rows, 3 varieties); watermelons (2 rows, 2 varieties) and one row of cantaloupes.  We also seeded one more row of beans.  This was our last big planting for the spring/summer season and we will leave one field fallow.  We usually put in a small winter garden and a few rows of garlic in the fall.

Irrigation:  Now that we have a good looking garden going we need lots of help keeping it watered and weeded.  Please notify Lloyd as to your availability.  Some of us will be at the garden tomorrow morning for watering chores.
